Aaaah Spring. Life returns in many ways. Birds of all kinds return to the forest, animals shake off the burden of Winter and insects of all shapes and sizes [in numbers too great to comprehend] arise to greet their human meal tickets.
Yes, bug season is upon us. So far it is not too bad as long as we stay out of the deep woods. We have seen worse insect problems in Northern Ontario in the past. Hopefully the Summer won't be bad.
Life here at camp is hectic to say the least. We are into a period of 3 groups per week, sometimes 2 at the same time. Sonya has had her new head cook for a couple of weeks now and she is working out quite well. Along with the assistant cook and a few of the spring staff, the kitchen is humming along very well. Needless to say there are still some challenges there but, God willing, they will continue to be small.
David still works away at the project. All cabins are now able to be used. There is still some electrical changeover to be done but that doesn't interfere with the guests. The outside work progresses. Siding, stairs, railings, new pathways, insulation of the floors and framing of rooms for plumbing underneath the cabins. The project really is quite a big task and as his crew of workers dwindles he hopes to not become too overwhelmed. There is still some trim to be done inside and we'll have to work around the groups to get this done.
All in all, this has been quite an experience...some positive...some challenging. We love the bush country and love to see each season come and go.
We know God is watching over us.
We send our love and prayers out to our families, our dear church family at IPC and all of our friends and former neighbours...(missing those patio chats). We think of you often and appreciate your prayer support. You are a part of us.
