Oh how the weeks fly by!
Here we find ourselves in the middle of February. We have finally had a change in the weather, for the last four days we wake up to temps. below -30... Friday was -37. Today we will have a high of 0 C. with a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow. Don't worry , tonight it will be back down to - teens.
Sonya has been very busy this weekend with a large group of "mothers and daughters", 95 + . A winter wonderland theme complete with Christmas turkey dinner and all the trimmings. This is one of the events that are hosted by the camp every year and are very special in the calendars of many of the camp supporters.
The cabin reno project goes well. David has been blessed with a very good work crew. Even in these days of bitter weather ,Andy,Joel,Pete and Hali show up for work. (David writing now.) These young people have done an amazing job here. I give them the option on these very cold days whether to work or not and they haven't refused yet. I try to keep inside work for us but it is sometimes not possible to be in on the worst days. The outside framing is going to be finished this week and then we can do some electrical and plumbing rough in. The roofing will be done by another company in the next few weeks and then we can look to the interior work. The siding will be ready soon and that will give us the option of inside or outside work. I continue to be amazed at the progress that we are making and sometimes I stand back and marvel at the gorgeous view that these cabins will afford when they are all done.
Health wise I am doing OK. Ofcourse my ambulance ride last weekend was another Manitoba first. But after being at the doctors this week, they are continuing to treat the anemia and I go back again in March. Only the Lord knows why all this is happening now but I will continue to plod along and trust Him.
