When We Don't Understand....He Does!

Well, we knew we felt tired last week but it seems David was more tired than we realized.
Last Monday morning we found ourselves taking an emergency trip into Steinbach to the hospital.
David went willingly..... after he began to work and couldn't even stay up on a ladder or drive a nail or breathe properly. At the hospital they took him quickly into the Emergency room and began to check him over and ran a series of tests. They resulted in finding that his hemoglobin was very low and this was why he was having difficulty breathing or even concentrating. So he recieved the all inclusive 3 day,
2 night stay at Bethsada Hospital, complete with a 2 pint blood transfusion, gastronoscopy and colonoscopy. Complementary monitoring of pulse, blood pressure and temperature continued on a 24 hr basis and once things were out of the danger zone, he was given his certificate of completion and was on his way. (We must add here that we recieved excellent care and God placed many caring Christian caregivers around us in this time of crisis)
Fortunately the Executive Director of the camp lives in Steinbach during the Fall/Winter so Sonya stayed overnight in the city. Once David was released from hospital we then stayed one more night in the city incase there were any complications or reactions to the medications. We then returned to Red Rock for one nights good rest in our own bed. We were at peace about the whole ordeal but still wanted some time to ourselves so we headed to Winnipeg and enjoyed a "date" night and hotel for the rest of the week. Returning to work yesterday, things went quite smoothly and again the peace that passes all understanding was upon us.
It's always interesting when you are faced with a situation that you've never encountered before and it can be even more intimidating when you are far away from those you love. We have come to see more and more each day, that when a child of God decides to step out in absolute obedience to the will of God, there will be a frantic effort of the powers of darkness to block him. Obstacles will spring up to hinder and discourage us. This is the very time NOT to give up! God's timing is always perfect. It is with this assurance that we continue to serve Him here at camp and look forward to each new day of blessing.
