Glad to be home

David here....My golf vacation was very good with warm weather 3 days out of 5 on the course. 5 rounds in 5 days with an average of 95....not bad for first time out this year. No trip is without glitches. One rotted out brake line and 2 deer on the hood on the way home. Thankfully, we had just pulled away from a stop light when the deer bolted across the road in Virginia and one did a dive and roll on the hood of the car. It's hooves left some marks but no damage to either car or deer. The 16 hour car ride back to Hamilton left us all tired but happy to be home. A quick flight to Winnipeg and I was back in the Prairies. We stayed overnight and got back to the camp on Monday afternoon. The snow is almost all gone but the lake is still covered in ice, although it is getting thin fast.
The project continues to progress well. A group is coming in on May 2 and they will need 4 or 5 of the cabins. Flooring is going in today and tomorrow and the cleanup of the old parts of the cabins has also started. Vanities will go in on Saturday as will some stairs and railings. Finish plumbing and electrical will start next week and interior doors will be installed then too. We will have some volunteer workers here over the next few days doing the flooring and vanities.
There is still lots of outside work to be done but this will have to be done over the next several weeks as I will lose my last 2 workers from my crew in a few weeks. Volunteer groups will re-appear now that the good weather has come and I may have some help from our Spring staff but I anticipate a Summer full of work finishing the additions. I am looking forward to this. This is what I really love to do.
Sonya is enjoying a few more days off before the flood of groups in May. (3 per week for most of May and June)
There is a definite change in the air here now. A true change of seasons. Lots of sunshine and warmer temperatures.
On May 5 I will see a specialist in Winnipeg. I pray that they can determine what is wrong with me and chart a course of action. Once we know something we will pass on the news. Until then all prayers are appreciated.
