February is here.

February really snuck up on us. The days fly by so fast lately because of all the groups that come to camp, usually 2 a week...sometimes 3!
The weather has been for the most part very cold. We had one "warm spell" where the temp. was at -5 C for a couple of days but early this week we had -37 C with wind chill of -45 C. This was the first time the temp. was uncomfortable [painful]. David's work crew found inside work to do for a few days. We heard on the news that the snowfall this month has been only about a quarter of normal. We still fear our time will be coming soon.
Last weekend there was a broomball tournament here at camp and David played 6 games on Sunday. David will NOT do this again..parts of his body are still reminding him of this..LOL!!!!
Sonya has been busy planning for the coming month of groups. Even the camp dog is helping out. A week ago, "Shadow" delivered the half-eaten foreleg of a deer that had been killed out on our ski trails to the back kitchen door. A few nights later Sonya heard the wolves howling at night as she walked home from the lodge. Yes we are in the wilderness.
We continue to be overwhelmed by the beauty of the park and the camp we live at. The trees covered in snow, the lake a glaze of white and that crisp sound under foot when you walk. This is the type of winter that we remember as children and we look forward to experiencing the coming seasons, bugs and all.
