Well, we trust that you enjoyed a wonderful weekend with friends and family, and that you didn't eat too much.
This holiday was very different for us. We were invited to celebrate with others but chose to stay put and just get a little more settled. So it was a nice, quiet weekend.
On Saturday afternoon we took our first trip into Steinbach to do some grocery shopping. (About 150km drive) We have seen many deer around but unfortunately saw one up close on our drive home. It was just getting abit darker on the road, and we were about 20km from the camp. Out of no where, the deer appeared on the road and then stopped right in front of us. We hit it's hind end and thankfully were OK, and able to drive the vehicle home. We will however need to get the driver's side lights and hood fixed. We learned a valuable lesson, and will try not to drive in the evenings.
Later that night we indulged in some wonderful pumpkin pie and watched a movie.
Sunday was pretty quiet. All the staff had gone to visit family so it was just us...and the camp dog. We took a nice walk around the property, napped in the afternoon and then went through a few more boxes. Had a great meatloaf dinner...and abit more pumpkin pie.
Today is back to work, and although there is no group in until Thurs., there is still plenty of things to do. It's like a really, really, really big house...the tasks never end. The weather today is definitely Fall like, 2 degrees and drizzle rain.
Well....it's off to work time.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! I'm glad that you and your car survived your deer encounter. It is fun to read about your new ministry.
God bless,
Valerie Easton
